What happened to the Land of Eternal?

Hundreds of years ago, the peaceful Land of Eternal faced an invasion from a tyrant called the Emperor of Darkness and it was chaos.

The tyrant led a legion of dead raving the land. Few standing strongholds had to join forces and formed an alliance. Skillful heroes across the Eternal Land joined the Alliance for the final clash. The Alliance, with humanity to protect, finally accomplished some miracles.

After intense battles, the fearless heroes of Eternal Land fought through the darkness and pushed it back. The Alliance headed toward the Emperor of Darkness’s fortress after countless victories. They know that the evil tyrant must be sealed forever for the Eternal Land’s sake.

They broke through the last line of defense and headed for the palace. The tyrant was quickly apprehended. He did, however, cast his final spell just as he was about to be sealed. Portals opened as countless treasures fell down. The fortress was quickly filled with endless waves of gold and gems from other dimensions. The allure of gold drew virtuous heroes to drop their weapons and rush to hoard the treasure, just as the tyrant predicted. If the Emperor of Darkness could not conquer the Eternal Land, he would ruin it with greed.

The situation got worse. After the war ended, soldiers from both sides formed small warbands to fight for the treasure. Fortunately, you and other heroes from the old Alliance were able to avoid the curse. Seeing your homeland devastated by the spell, you set a new mission for yourself: to purge the Emperor’s undead army, punish the fallen heroes, and retrieve the cursed treasure and seal it forever.
